The excess skin and fat that can accumulate over the bra strap is a common concern for many women. Diet and exercise usually do little to combat this loose, hanging tissue, especially when there is a lack of skin elasticity. Although back fat can also affect men who typically resort to a back lift to achieve a tight, tone torso, women are the ones who become distressed over this condition as their clothing options become limited and they become hesitant to wear form-fitting clothing in fear it will accentuate their back fat.

A bra line back lift is performed under general anesthesia. An incision is made across the target area giving access to the excess skin and tissue. If needed or desired, liposuction will be utilized during surgery to remove any fatty bulges. By combining liposuction with a back lift, it helps to improve the final shape and contour. Finally, excess skin will be excised with the remaining skin being pulled taut to smooth out the region. The incision will be sutured shut with special care that any scars will be hidden beneath the bra or bathing suit.
Recovery – Compression garments should be worn to aid in shaping your new torso following surgery, and strenuous exercise should be avoided for several weeks. The results are often dramatic as the upper back is contoured allowing one to wear a bra without excessive bulging.
