It’s important to know the difference between these two procedures when considering butt augmentation. While both are technically types of butt augmentation, a Brazilian butt lift uses the patient’s own body fat to create the desired shape, whereas, butt implants require the implantation of a foreign object, in this case silicone implants, to augment the buttocks. Fat grafting allows for safer and more effective results that look and feel more natural.
A Brazilian butt lift procedure begins by performing liposuction to extract the excess fat to be used. Once the fat is suctioned out, it is placed into a centrifuge to be purified and prepared for re-injection. The fat is then loaded into several syringes or cannulas before being carefully and precisely injected into the buttocks and outer hips.
