Browlift vs. Blepharoplasty

Browlift vs. Blepharoplasty

01 Jun 2015 Browlift vs. Blepharoplasty

A browlift and a blepharoplasty are not always mutually exclusive procedures. They can be done together, however, in some cases neither procedure will address the problem. It begins with a proper evaluation of the eyelid and brow by a plastic surgeon.

A browlift is best when the eyebrows have descended to a position below the bone called your orbital rim. Oftentimes a browlift may decrease the amount of skin of your upper eyelids. A blepharoplasty removes the skin of the upper eyelid but also helps to remove fatty deposits of the upper eyelids that present as bulging in the medial aspect of your upper eyelids towards your nose. You may need both to correct any problems but it is best to schedule a consultation with one of our plastic surgeons to evaluate your eyelids and eyebrows.
