This is a 64 year old female who was diagnosed with left breast cancer. Prior to undergoing a left mastectomy, she meet with board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Neaman to discuss various immediate breast reconstruction options. The patient elected to undergo immediate breast reconstruction following her mastectomy with the placement of a tissue expander. She recovered without significant difficulty and underwent a series of expansions over the course of several months. The tissue expander was eventually exchanged for a permanent implant where a breast augmentation mastopexy (breast lift) was performed on the right breast for symmetry. She is awaiting to undergo nipple reconstruction under local anesthesia on the left breast soon.
