One of the most common facial plastic surgeries, rhinoplasty – also referred to as a nose job – is a procedure that reshapes the nose for a more appealing appearance. Rhinoplasty can alter the size and shape to achieve a more proportionate nose while also bringing balance to your facial features. If your nose was damaged by injury or if you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, Salem plastic surgeons Dr. Keith Neaman and Dr. Dustin Christiansen can help you reach your aesthetic goals with rhinoplasty. To discuss your options and whether you would better be served with surgical rhinoplasty or non-surgical rhinoplasty, contact Neaman Plastic Surgery at 844-338-5445 today to schedule a personal consultation!
Your nose is one of the first things people see when they look at you. It is the central focal point on your face. With that being said, If it has endured damage or has any type of cosmetic flaw, it can be discouraging and strip you of confidence. Rhinoplasty may be used to correct physical imperfections of the nose including:
While improving the overall appearance of your nose, rhinoplasty also helps to correct nasal birth defects, injuries or breathing hindrances such as a deviated septum.
“I AM CURRENTLY 5 WEEKS OUT FROM THE SURGERY AND AM BEYOND HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS. MY NOSE LOOKS BETTER THAN I IMAGINED IT WOULD AND MY ABILITY TO BREATHE IS FULLY RESTORED. THIS HAS BEEN LIFE CHANGING FOR ME. IT TAKES A LOT OF COURAGE TO TRUST A SURGEON WITH YOUR FACE. I MADE THE BEST CHOICE IN DR. NEAMAN AND AM THANKFUL FOR THE IMPROVEMENTS THAT HE HAS MADE IN MY LIFE.”
Rhinoplasty surgery is usually performed under general anesthesia. There are two types of rhinoplasty: a closed procedure where incisions are made inside the nose and an open procedure in which incisions are made across the skin that separates the nostrils. During rhinoplasty, nasal cartilage, bone structure and tissue are reshaped and altered. Cartilage and bone can be removed to achieve a smaller nose profile, or synthetic tissue can be added to enhance the size of the nose or to achieve your desired nose shape.
Dr. Neaman and Dr. Christiansen have a thorough understanding of facial anatomy backed by extensive training and experience in a number of facial plastic surgery techniques, including open and closed rhinoplasty procedures. At Neaman Plastic Surgery, your satisfaction is our goal, and we are dedicated to individualized rhinoplasty treatments that provide functional, symmetrical and natural-looking results.
Anyone who is unhappy with the size, shape, or profile of their nose may be a good candidate for a nose job. You should be in good health and have realistic expectations for your procedure. You may not be able to achieve perfection, but you can come close. Dr. Neaman or Dr. Christiansen will evaluate your nose and will discuss your cosmetic goals. Several factors play a role in what you can achieve with a rhinoplasty, such as your facial shape and skin quality and thickness. Some patients who only desire minor modifications to help straighten or smooth out the nose may be good candidates for non-surgical rhinoplasty offered at Neaman Plastic Surgery and MediSpa.
Immediately following surgery, you should expect to feel some discomfort, swelling and bruising in the treatment area. You may be fitted with a splint, bandages or packing to keep your newly shaped nose in place. Within a couple of weeks, swelling should begin to subside which will allow your results to become more visible. Healing is gradual, so your results can continue to improve for up to a year.
Whether you are seeking out rhinoplasty to correct nasal imperfections due to an accident or injury, or whether you just want to improve the overall appearance of your nose, rhinoplasty can help you achieve the nose profile you desire and improve your self-image.
